Ways to Give to Help Haiti
The best way to provide immediate aid to the people of Haiti is through financial donations. Here are the ways you can provide help for the relief effort:
- Call 1-800-RED CROSS or 1-800 HELP NOW
- Text “Haiti” to 90999
- Donate at an official retail location near you
- Take advantage of special promotions and offers
- Purchase Red Cross branded items to show your support and a portion of your purchase automatically is a charitable donation.
- Host a fundraiser for the American Red Cross
Unfortunately, the American Red Cross cannot accept small, individual collections of items such as clothing, food, cleaning supplies and medicine, because it strains resources to sort, package and distribute these kinds of donations and they are difficult to distribute in a meaningful way.
Thank you for your interest in the American Red Cross disaster relief response to the recent Haiti earthquake. We are humbled by the generosity of the American people and your willingness to help.
If you have any questions, please contact Red Cross Donor Services at 1-800-797-8022 or email donorsupport@usa.redcross.org.
